The Maldives is an experience as much as a destination. From the moment you step off the plane and walk across the floating pontoon to your waiting speedboat, it’s clear—you’re in another world.
We stayed at Centara Ras Fushi, an adults-only island retreat just a short boat ride from Malé. Perched above turquoise waters in overwater villas, the pace was blissfully slow. Days blurred into one another in the best way: morning snorkels with reef sharks and parrotfish, reading under swaying palms, sunset cocktails and the occasional cool down in the sea or a spa ritual. The Indian ocean is my favourite ‘sea’ – the temperature, the colour and the glassy stillness just makes you feel like you are in heaven!
This isn’t the place to explore culture or cuisine—it’s about what the hotel creates. Each island is the hotel. And the luxury lies in simplicity: space, beauty, and time. Time to reconnect, time to breathe, time to do absolutely nothing.
