Tuscany – Siena, Florence, Elba & Forte dei Marmi
Tuscany is everything you imagine Italy to be – golden hills, olive groves, Renaissance art and timeless charm. In Siena, I wandered medieval streets and soaked up the atmosphere of the famous Piazza del Campo. Florence offered a treasure trove of history and beauty – from Michelangelo’s David to sunset views over the Arno. I took the ferry to Elba, a beautiful island retreat with crystalline waters and rugged coastal hikes. And in Forte dei Marmi, I experienced laid-back luxury on the Versilia coast – boutique shopping, sandy beaches and aperitivos as the sun set behind the Apuan Alps.
South Tyrol – A Taste of Italy with an Austrian Soul
April 2025, I was lucky enough to escape to South Tyrol, where snow-capped peaks meet sunny skies and the culture is a unique blend of Italian flair and Austrian efficiency. With 315 days of sunshine a year and just 2.5 hours from London Gatwick, it’s a brilliant short-break destination.
