Europe – a lot of air miles!

Throwback to the Ride of a Lifetime 🚵‍♀️✈️
Early in my career, I had the  opportunity to work as a travelling sponsorship account manager on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup for 2 seasons! It was more than just a job—it was a passport to some of Europe’s most iconic summer mountain destinations and a crash course in collaboration, culture and adaptability.

Each event took me to breathtaking off-the-beaten-path mountain towns and deep into the heart of capital cities, where I worked closely with local markets to bring each stage of the World Cup to life.

🇪🇸 Madrid & Sierra Nevada, Spain

Hot days, late nights, and tapas-fueled teamwork in Madrid set the tone for the season. Sierra Nevada brought high-altitude adrenaline and the electric energy of the World Championship finale.

🇩🇪 St. Wendel & Berlin, Germany

St. Wendel’s green countryside was a quiet haven of order and hospitality. In contrast, Berlin buzzed with bold ideas, efficient planning, and cross-cultural meetings.

🇧🇪 Houffalize & Brussels, Belgium

Houffalize’s deep forests and passionate fans gave the events heart. Brussels added multilingual flair, local pride, and very strong coffee.

🇫🇷 Les Gets & Paris, France

Wildflower meadows and downhill tracks in Les Gets met with Parisian intensity and elegance in the capital’s planning rooms—a perfect contrast of nature and nuance.

🇸🇮 Maribor & Ljubljana, Slovenia

A hidden gem of vineyards and shaded trails, Maribor offered peace and authenticity. Ljubljana mirrored that charm—artistic, warm, and quietly professional.

🇮🇹 Nevegal & Rome, Italy

Winding mountain roads, golden sunsets, and rustic trattorias defined Nevegal. Rome, all chaos and espresso, taught me how to keep pace with beautiful unpredictability.

🇦🇹 Kaprun & Salzburg, Austria

Kaprun was all glacial grandeur and pristine performance—made even more unforgettable by a total solar eclipse. Salzburg, grand and graceful, grounded the experience.

🇸🇪 Åre & Stockholm, Sweden

As the season wound down, Åre’s dark skies and dramatic peaks kept adrenaline high. Stockholm provided the perfect blend of Nordic efficiency and calm resolution.

🇨🇭 Lausanne & Geneva, Switzerland

Set beside Lake Geneva, Lausanne offered lakeside serenity and top-tier facilities. Geneva’s diplomatic rhythm made every meeting smooth, respectful, and globally minded.

This chapter of my life taught me how to build relationships across cultures, adapt on the fly and deliver under pressure—all while experiencing some of Europe’s most spectacular landscapes, not as a tourist, but as part of a team and being part of sportsmen and women’s incredible achievements and making history in their small part of the world.
